Privacy Policy - Examen
Application: Examen
Last updated: February 27, 2026
Lumina Digital (“Controller”, “we”) values confidentiality and data protection. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information related to the use of the Examen application (“App”), including aspects related to subscriptions and user support.
By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you declare that you are aware of and agree to this Policy.
1. Privacy Principles of Examen
Examen is designed to minimize data processing and, in particular, not to collect the content of your examination of conscience. In practical terms:
The content you enter (e.g., sins, markings, and notes) is stored locally on your device.
The App does not require an account (name, email, login) to function.
We do not use analytics tools to track user behavior.
Premium subscriptions are managed by the Apple App Store / Google Play and the provider RevenueCat, strictly for validation and management of access to Premium.
2. Definitions
For the purposes of this Policy:
“Examination Data”: content of the examination of conscience (sins, markings, notes, and selections made during the App's flow).
“Subscription Data”: technical and commercial information necessary to validate Premium, such as subscription status and receipts processed by the stores and RevenueCat.
“Support Data”: information voluntarily sent by you when you contact us (e.g., email and content of the message).
3. What data do we process and for what purposes
3.1. Examination Data (local storage)
Examen does not collect, transmit, or store Examination Data on servers. This data remains on your device and is used exclusively for the functionality of the App (guided examination, review, final list, prayer, etc.).
3.2. Subscription Data (Premium)
If you subscribe to Premium, the App may process Subscription Data to:
Enable and maintain access to Premium features;
Restore purchases when applicable;
Validate subscription status.
Processing by third parties: purchases and billing are processed by Apple and/or Google (depending on the platform), and management/validation may be mediated by RevenueCat. RevenueCat does not have access to the Examination Data.
3.3. Support Data (contact via email)
When you send an email to suporte@luminadigital.app, we process:
Your email address;
The content of the message and any attachments sent;
Technical information you voluntarily provide (e.g., device model, operating system version, error description).
Purpose: support, problem-solving, communication regarding requests, and operational improvement of support.
4. Legal basis (when applicable)
When applicable, we process data based on:
Contract execution (e.g., to enable Premium and support);
Legitimate interest (e.g., responding to requests and maintaining support operations), always respecting your rights and expectations;
Compliance with legal/regulatory obligations when necessary.
Note: Since the content of the examination is not sent to servers, the central processing of the App occurs locally on the device.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell data and do not share Examination Data with advertisers.
We may share only what is necessary:
Apple App Store / Google Play: payment processing, receipts, and subscription management;
RevenueCat: validation/management of Premium subscriptions (Subscription Data and necessary technical identifiers);
Email providers: to facilitate support communication when you contact us.
6. Storage, retention, and deletion
6.1. Examination Data
Remains on the device;
You can delete it at any time in Settings > Delete my data (as available in the App);
When uninstalling the App, the operating system removes the local data associated with the App.
6.2. Support Data
Support messages may be retained for as long as necessary to:
Address your request;
Maintain a minimum support history; and/or
Comply with legal obligations.
6.3. Subscription Data
Subscription Data is maintained according to the rules and policies of Apple/Google and RevenueCat, for the time necessary for validation, auditing, and applicable legal/accounting obligations.
7. Information Security
We adopt reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information processed (especially in the subscription and support flows).
Importantly: since the Examination Data remains on the device, security also depends on the user's own measures (device password, biometrics, system backups, etc.). If biometric features are available in the App, they act as an additional layer of local protection.
8. Children and Teens
The App may offer adapted reading profiles. Examen:
Does not require registration;
Does not intentionally request personal data from minors;
Does not collect the content of the examination.
We recommend that use by children be supervised by legal guardians.
9. Your rights
Under applicable law, you may request:
Clarifications regarding this Policy;
Information about data processed in support/subscriptions;
Correction/update of information provided in support contact, when applicable.
Since the Examination Data remains locally on the device, deletion is performed directly by you in the App or by uninstallation.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy periodically. The current version will be available on the website and/or in the App, with the date of “Last updated.”
